The Cargo Operations Assets Manager is responsible for executing, managing, and coordinating key operational activities related to cargo equipment and facilities. This role ensures effective management of maintenance, environmental compliance, project implementation, stakeholder relations, and cost controls to support cargo operations. The successful candidate will collaborate with multiple teams, including Ground Support Equipment (GSE), Corporate Real Estate (CRE), and Airport Authorities, to maintain seamless operations and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities:
- Primary Point of Contact: Serve as the single point of contact for Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and Corporate Real Estate (CRE) teams.
- Facilities Coordination: Collaborate with CRE to manage repairs to Air Canada assets and ensure the cleanliness of the building.
- Ground Handling Equipment Support: Support the maintenance of Air Canada Cargo ground handling equipment assets in collaboration with the GSE team.
- Daily Inspections & Reporting: Maintain, track, and trend daily inspection reports to ensure operational compliance.
- Environmental Compliance: Monitor environmental compliance, ensuring any spills are handled, documented, and disposed of according to corporate standards.
- Audit & Compliance: Coordinate with internal audit teams to achieve successful audit results and address any findings promptly.
- Safety & Security Standards: Maintain and enforce safety and security standards across the cargo facility.
- Maintenance Oversight: Ensure maintenance contracts are upheld, ensuring timely servicing and adherence to agreements.
- Airport Authority Liaison: Work with Airport Authorities on facility-related requirements.
- Cost Management: Control operational costs and seek opportunities for cost savings.
- Project Delivery: Support the delivery of cargo
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- Project Management: Proven ability to develop and implement action plans to achieve operational objectives.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proficiency in presenting ideas effectively.
- Collaboration: Strong ability to work constructively with peers, clients, and management.
- Technical Proficiency: Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access). Familiarity with Air Canada systems is an asset.
- Problem-Solving: Advanced troubleshooting, critical thinking, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Operational Expertise: Thorough knowledge of cargo operations, GSE, CRE processes, and airport/airline regulations. Experience in ramp, baggage, and passenger handling is an asset.
- Health & Safety Standards: Familiarity with airport-related Health & Safety standards and regulatory requirements.
