purpose of the job
The Strategic supplier management member will be responsible for leading all labor supplier management activities for a portfolio of MSP, SOW & RPO customers. They will serve as a thought leader and industry expert on projects and initiatives relative to all forms of contingent labor sourcing and management (staff augmentation, IC/freelancers, services procurement and pay-rolling) along with the sourcing partners. This professional will ensure RSR has established the proper supplier management to deliver optimum performance, pricing and program compliance to each client within their portfolio. The SSM managers will be up-to-date on current marketplace trends and utilize this knowledge to continuously advise our customers on supplier management best practices relative to contingent labor sourcing, and in doing so, position RSR as a market leader in supplier management. They will be required to effectively develop and maintain executive level relationships with the supplier community as well as our current and prospective clients. The SSM manager actively manages and drives performance and engagement from our Operating Companies, ensuring on-going success of Randstad Sourceright.
key responsibilities
- Serve as a subject matter expert for supplier management projects and initiatives (i.e.: supplier sourcing, RFx, optimizations, supplier forums & training, satisfaction surveys, etc.) developing partner in the T2 countries
- Work directly with customers and RSR Program Office leadership to advise and recommend optimal supplier management strategies
- Create, manage and evaluate supplier RFI/RFP events to source best-in-class suppliers
- Perform and/or participate in quarterly supplier performance review sessions in conjunction with operations leadership
- Serve as the primary point of contact in mentoring/coaching our supplier partners
- Establish, manage and document supplier performance improvement plans, including program suspension and/or removal if expected results are not achieved.
- Serve as a POC for new potential suppliers interested in joining the RSR supplier network or a specific program’s Preferred Supplier List (PSL)
- Provide support, management and supplier training during the supplier vetting process as new suppliers join RSR programs
- Regularly analyses data to identify gaps in the MSP program SSM and make proactive recommendations to client and RSR Program Office to ensure desired business results
- Partner with RSR Market Analytics team to obtain market information on niche positions, pay rates, etc. Present findings and cost savings opportunities and/or risk analysis to program Stakeholders
- Create and distribute critical communications to supplier partners
- Support the client and operations team with supplier escalations, issues or concerns
- Organize, host and prepare content for supplier forum/summits
- Partner with department peers in other global regions to ensure consistency in the supplier strategy and supplier communications across global accounts
- Build expertise by continuously monitoring the industry landscape for regulatory changes that could affect our supplier strategy, and proactively advise Operations Leadership and client accordingly
- Utilize project management skills including communication, time management, organization and planning to successfully manage supplier activities across multiple MSP, SOW & RPO programs across APAC
- Build effective executive level relationships with our supplier partners, and establish trust and partnership among the supplier community
qualifications - education, knowledge, experience
- Bachelors/Master’s degree
- 10 to 15 years of Procurement, Staffing Industry, MSP or Services Procurement related work experience
- Experience building effective relationships with senior level client and supplier representatives
- Experience with staffing supplier contracts and services procurement (SOW business) preferred
- Proven track record in negotiating contract terms
- Excellent attention to detail, with demonstrated ability to successfully handle multiple concurrent tasks and adjust priorities on the fly
- Experience building effective business cases supported by data
- Understanding of labor and supplier markets in India preferred
- Outstanding interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively in a team environment, handle internal clients with tact and diplomacy, and maintain composure and production quality under deadline pressure
- Ability to think strategically and execute tactically
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment that values creativity, self-motivation, candor, initiative, reliability and accountability
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills, including development of internal and external communications
- Experience with small and large-scale program implementations and steady state projects
- Computer Skills
- Experience using Vendor Management Software (Fieldglass, Beeline, IQN, Ariba, etc) required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Word, PowerPoint and Excel) required
- Additional Requirements - Ability to travel to support clients within the region, internal meetings and industry related conferences. This role can anticipate 20% - 40% travel
