objective of the role

Reporting into the EE regional MD, this senior, instrumental leadership role has the overall objective, as the Romanian market MD role, to provide strategic direction for both operational and professional talent solutions, which drives revenue growth (50M RON business) and market expansions by building and leading high performing teams (up to 100), fit to service clients and talent through strong business excellence.

role priorities and responsibilities:
strategic leadership:
- Provide strategic direction and leadership to the (country/market) business, aligning in-country goals with the overall Randstad strategy.
- Build, motivate, and lead a high-performing and highly engaged in-country team, fostering a strong culture of collaboration and accountability.
- Manage a dedicated budget, ensuring financial performance aligns with regional and global objectives.
- Recruit, develop, and retain top talent within the region, ensuring strong employee engagement and retention.
- Engage and collaborate with leadership teams in other countries and specialisms to support strategic success and growth.
growth:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive in-country sales strategy to achieve and exceed ambitious revenue and market share growth targets on behalf of Randstad.
- Deeply understand the competitive landscape across in-country markets, identifying opportunities and tailoring strategies for local dynamics.
- Develop strong relationships with key clients and partners, fostering long-term partnerships and driving profitable business growth.
- Oversee the launch and successful execution of new product and service offerings within the country.

- Maintain a strong understanding of both our and our client’s industry trends and regulatory landscapes, across regional markets through collaborative relationships with wider markets and specialisms.
- Conduct in-depth market research and analysis to identify new growth opportunities and adapt strategies to local market conditions.
- Monitor competitor activity and develop strategies to maintain a competitive edge within the region.
talent management excellence:
- Oversee efficient and effective talent operations across the country for Randstad including regulatory landscapes, including unions and workers councils.
- Identify opportunities to leverage talent to drive strategy and achieve growth
- Implement and adhere to strong talent risk management practices and ensure adherence to Randstad policies and regulations.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams and markets to ensure smooth talent operations and achieve in-country goals linked to Randstad’s global ambition.
- Ensure an efficient and effective structure, management layers and span of control that aligns with global standards.

- Successful in commercial positions, has sales and deal making experience and a proven track record of realising sustainable growth within a highly competitive and dynamic market.
- Successful in cultivating and strengthening solid relationships with a diverse array of strategic stakeholders, including captains of industry, business partners, important customers, senior staff members and social partners*.
- Earned a reputation as market influencer and thought leader, through various channels: social media, conferences, publications, key notes,...
- Successfully realised turnarounds, transformed unsuccessful and dysfunctional teams into high performing teams, revitalised businesses and realised significant efficiency gains via operational excellence.
- Inspired and led cross-functional teams in a matrix environment, outlined the strategic direction and directed teams in various contexts and maturity phases. Has shown resilience and perseverance in periods of downturn and crisis.
- Experience in general management, P&L accountability and leveraging different drivers such as gross profit, efficiency & cost, having increased profitability.
