About the Role:
As part of the dedicated Cared for Children's Team, you will work with children and young people who are currently in care. You'll support children and their families, working together to create care plans that aim to achieve the best possible outcomes, including supporting children who have plans to live outside of family care. Your role will be key in ensuring every child's voice is heard, and they receive the care and support they deserve.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work directly with children, young people, and their families to provide care, guidance, and support.
- Develop and implement care plans that reflect the needs and wishes of the child, ensuring the child's best interests are at the heart of everything you do.
- Collaborate with families, foster carers, and multi-agency professionals to ensure that the children you work with have the best possible opportunities.
- Carry out statutory responsibilities, including visits, assessments, and preparing reports for court.
- Contribute to service development and share best practices with colleagues to improve outcomes for children.
Benefits:
- 15% Extra Remuneration Package - paid monthly.
- Relocation Package - up to £8,000 to support your move to Middlesbrough.
- Hybrid Working - offering flexibility where service requirements allow.
- Generous Annual Leave - starting from 26 days and rising to 31 days after 5 years' service, plus paid bank holidays (with a combined value of almost £6,000).
- Pension Scheme - employer pension contributions of 11.5%, equating to over £5,000 annually.
- Death in Service - a sum of 3.5 times your annual salary.
- Sick Pay - up to 6 months full pay and 6 months half pay for sickness absence, offering you financial security during difficult times.
- Family-Friendly Policies - including generous discretionary leave for personal or family matters.
- Additional Benefits - access to salary sacrifice schemes for electric cars and bikes, and discounts at popular high street retailers.
- Professional Development - full support and opportunities to grow your career through training and learning programs.
Who We're Looking For:
- A qualified social worker registered with Social Work England.
- Experience in working with children and families in a care environment, with a commitment to safeguarding and improving outcomes for vulnerable children.
- Strong communication, assessment, and report-writing skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multi-agency professionals, families, and carers to achieve the best outcomes.
- A passion for making a positive difference in the lives of children in care.
