Location: Rivière-des-Prairies, Montréal
Salary: $70-80k
Under the supervision of the Supply Chain Service Manager, the Buyer is responsible for all purchases, both production and non-production, that cannot be globalized (such as cleaning, snow removal, purchase requests, business case management, etc.). The Buyer ensures the entire purchasing process. Project management related to urgent, non-contracted parts must be implemented, taking into account the deadlines and costs associated with these projects.

Responsibilities
Collaborate with global strategic buyers to meet the needs of the plant.
Oversee the purchasing process in its entirety for all non-globalizable purchases (supplier search, RFQ requests and business case processing, negotiation, contracting, etc.).
Ensure best business practices (application of the purchasing policy, adherence to framework contracts, ESG supplier search, implementation of multiple sources, etc.).
Responsible for improving supplier performance (quality, cost, lead time, etc.) to reduce supply chain costs.
Responsible for qualifying, disqualifying, developing, evaluating, and auditing suppliers.
Build a supplier portfolio for component and material needs with short lead times (Speed Shop).
Develop strategies for non-globalizable purchasing categories.
Support initiatives for inter-site purchasing consolidation aimed at reducing costs and harmonizing business practices.
Validate invoice discrepancies and supplier disputes.
Ensure follow-up on agreements and contract terms previously established with suppliers.
Produce analyses of existing purchases (through data and BI) to initiate actions to improve competitiveness.
Participate in continuous improvement efforts and strive to continually enhance work methods and practices within the department.
Maintain business relationships with suppliers and oversee cost reduction initiatives for the plant, particularly regarding inter-site purchasing consolidation.
