Due to high demand we are seeking dedicated and reliable Building Supervisors to join our local schools in and across Wigan. This is a key role in ensuring the safety, security, and smooth operation of the school site.
The Building Supervisor will oversee the maintenance and cleanliness of the school premises, manage health and safety compliance, and liaise with staff and external contractors. The successful candidate will be proactive, hands-on, and have a passion for creating a safe and welcoming environment for our students and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the daily maintenance and cleanliness of the school buildings and grounds.
- Conduct routine inspections and manage minor repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Oversee and assist with the cleaning team, ensuring high standards of cleanliness throughout the school.
- Manage health and safety protocols, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
- Act as the point of contact for contractors and maintenance teams, coordinating works and liaising with external suppliers.
- Unlock/lock the premises as required and ensure security systems are functional.
- Assist in setting up for events, assemblies, and other school activities.
- Carry out emergency and routine repairs on school facilities.
- Ensure that all areas of the school are safe for staff, students, and visitors.
- Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and materials.
What we are looking for:
- A good understanding of health and safety legislation and procedures.
- Practical skills in maintenance, repairs, and general building tasks.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with staff, contractors, and external agencies.
Requirements:
- An Enhanced Child DBS or willingness to undertake one (we can help with this).
- Legal right to work in the UK.
- Comprehensive CV covering the last 10 years of education/employment history with any breaks explained.
