We are supporting a well-established Special Educational Needs (SEN) school, committed to fostering a nurturing and inclusive learning environment for students aged 11 to 19 with SEMH. Their mission is to help students thrive academically and personally, equipping them with the tools they need to succeed.
Position: Biology and IT Teacher
Contract: Full-time
Start Date: October or soon after
As a Biology and IT Teacher at this school, you will play a vital role in delivering stimulating lessons that inspire curiosity and support emotional and social growth. Key Responsibilities:
... - Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Biology and IT lessons tailored to the diverse learning needs of SEMH students.
- Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment where all students feel supported and encouraged.
- Use varied teaching strategies and adapt your approach to suit students' unique needs and learning styles.
- Monitor and assess student progress, offering constructive feedback to students, parents, and colleagues.
- Collaborate with other teachers, support staff, and external professionals to develop Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students.
- Occasionally cover pre-planned lessons from other curriculum subjects to ensure smooth continuation of learning.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
- Experience teaching Biology and IT, with a passion for these subjects.
- Previous experience working with students with SEMH needs is desirable.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive approach to supporting students with varying educational needs.
- Excellent organisational skills to plan and deliver both subject-specific lessons and cover sessions.
Salary: The salary for this position ranges from £30,000 to £45,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
