We are looking for a dedicated Behaviour Support Worker to join our team in a secondary setting in Leeds. In this role, you will work closely with students who require pastoral support, helping them to engage with their learning and manage their behaviour effectively.

- Pay Rate: £90 - £120 per day
Requirements:
- Relevant experience working with young people, ideally in a pastoral or behavioural support role.
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Ability to remain calm and composed when dealing with challenging behaviour.
Skills
- Build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents, fostering trust and respect, is crucial.
- Solid understanding of positive behaviour management techniques and interventions is essential for supporting students with behavioural challenges.
- Identify and address the underlying causes of behaviour challenges and to de-escalate situations calmly and effectively is vital.
- Understanding and compassion for students who may be struggling with their behaviour.
- Adjust to different situations and individuals, modifying approaches as needed, is essential in a dynamic school environment.
- Working effectively as part of a team with teachers, other support staff, and parents is crucial for providing comprehensive support to students.
Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group support to students who are experiencing behavioural challenges.
- Develop and implement positive behaviour management strategies.
- Work closely with teachers and other support staff to create a safe and supportive learning environment for all students.
- Build positive relationships with students, fostering trust and respect.
- Identify and address the underlying causes of behaviour challenges.
- Develop and implement individualised support plans for students.
- Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to teachers and parents.
- Promote a positive and inclusive school culture.
- Contribute to the school's overall well-being strategy.
- Maintain accurate records of student support and interventions.
