You will lead the HR department in developing and implementing strategic HR initiatives that align with the goals of the school. This role is pivotal in fostering a positive work environment, enhancing employee engagement, and ensuring compliance with relevant employment laws. You will partner with leadership to support the organization’s mission of providing exceptional educational experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic HR Leadership:
- Develop and execute HR strategies aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
- Partner with senior leadership to assess and anticipate HR-related needs.
Talent Acquisition and Retention:
- Oversee the recruitment process to attract top talent, including designing job descriptions, conducting interviews, and coordinating onboarding.
- Implement employee retention strategies to enhance job satisfaction and reduce turnover.
Employee Relations:
- Act as a point of contact for employee concerns, resolving conflicts and promoting a culture of open communication.
- Provide guidance and support to managers on employee performance issues and disciplinary actions.
Performance Management:
- Develop and manage performance appraisal systems that promote employee development and align with organizational objectives.
- Facilitate training programs and workshops to enhance employee skills and career growth.
Compliance and Policy Development:
- Ensure compliance with local employment laws and regulations.
- Develop, implement, and update HR policies and procedures in alignment with best practices.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Oversee the administration of compensation and benefits programs, ensuring competitiveness and equity within the institution.
- Conduct salary surveys and analyze compensation trends to inform recommendations.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion:
- Promote diversity and inclusion initiatives within the organization.
- Implement training programs to foster an inclusive workplace culture.
HR Metrics and Reporting:
- Analyze HR metrics to assess workforce trends and inform strategic decision-making.
- Prepare and present reports to senior leadership on HR initiatives and outcomes.
skills and experience required
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience with at least 5 years in a managerial role, and preferably well versed across the HR spectrum
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage people at all levels
- Proactive, independent and able to multi-task, and work both at the conceptualisation and operational levels
- Familiar with the Employment Act and prevailing HR practices and legislations in Singapore
