EL1 Assistant Director – Economics and Insights

About the Role
As an EL1 Assistant Director – Economics and Insights, you will play a key role in shaping policy decisions through economic research and analysis. You will provide insights into pricing and market interventions, contribute to strategy development, and support evidence-based decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct economic research and analysis to inform policy decisions, particularly in pricing and market interventions.
- Support the development and implementation of the Annual Pricing Review and Pricing Strategy.
- Review and analyse economic data to support complex policy and pricing decisions.
- Develop provider performance metrics and sector monitoring dashboards to assess market conditions.
- Plan and lead ad hoc economic analysis and research projects.
- Collaborate across teams, government departments, and academic institutions to deliver high-impact insights.
- Contribute to leadership efforts, fostering a high-performing and positive team culture.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills to navigate complex economic issues.
- The ability to synthesise and communicate complex information in plain English for diverse audiences.
- Sound judgement, decision-making, and governance capabilities.
- Experience developing and implementing analytical frameworks to monitor policy and program impacts.

Qualifications & Experience
- A postgraduate degree in economics, econometric, or a related field is highly desirable.
