PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee the accurate and timely completion of monthly financial statements.
Provide in-depth analytical comparisons of financial statements, including year-over-year and budget comparisons.
Actively participate in monthly financial statement meetings with executives and managers.
Reconcile subledger accounts to general ledger accounts (e.g., vehicle inventory, fixed assets) monthly.
Manage vehicle lease accounting, distinguishing between direct finance leases and operating leases.
Prepare and review monthly and annual budgets by division and in aggregate.
Support operational managers in preparing their budgets.
Ensure internal controls are robust and functioning effectively.
Prepare periodic cash flow forecasts to anticipate and manage cash needs.
Monitor and ensure compliance with all government and regulatory reporting.
Provide detailed financial analysis of operational strategies.
Oversee AR, AP, sales, and payroll to ensure transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
Complete the annual audit for external auditors punctually.
Prepare securitized funding reports (e.g., Early Terminations, AR reports, Compliance reports) and tranche files.
Oversee and coordinate the financing of assets with multiple funders, ensuring compliance with diverse requirements (e.g., chattel checklist).
Liaise with funders to ensure adherence to reporting requirements.
KEY ATTRIBUTES FOR SUCCESS
High level of organization with a strong attention to detail.
Ability to learn and adapt to new programs and provide constructive feedback..
Thrive in a collaborative and team-oriented environment.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS OF ROLE
Minimum of 5 years experience as a Controller in the commercial automotive leasing industry.
Extensive experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint).
CPA designation or in the final process of obtaining one.
University Degree in Commerce or Accounting.
Strong familiarity with ASPE and GAAP.
Experience in securitization accounting is a plus.
Proven leadership skills with hands-on experience in managing and mentoring staff.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Strong analytical abilities and proficiency in producing ad-hoc reports.
High level of organization and attention to detail.
Motivation to achieve set goals and deadlines.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
