... About the Opportunity
The team oversees the implementation and upkeep of the property strategy, managing site fit-outs and capital projects. Within this dispersed team, the APS6 Project Officer will provide specialised technical, professional, policy, and operational support on complex issues. The role includes coordinating and contributing to strategic planning, program and project management, and policy development to help advance the agency's objectives.
Duties:
- Develop and manage comprehensive project plans and schedules in line with the organisation's project management framework.
- Provide specialised advice and technical expertise to team members and key stakeholders.
- Conduct independent research, analysis, and draft relevant project reports.
- Coordinate project reporting, including status updates and exception reports.
- Draft business cases, project plans, executive briefs, and other corporate documentation.
- Monitor and report on project budgets, manage expenditure, and assist in procurement and contract oversight.
- Identify and manage project risks, issues, and benefits to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards, align with client needs, and are fit for purpose.
Requirements:
- Background in managing capital projects
- Familiarity with Australian Government Procurement Guidelines
- Skilled in interpreting planning and design documents
- Demonstrated success in managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Basic knowledge of construction processes, fit-outs, and industry terminology
- Australian citizenship required
It is expected that the successful candidate will possess strong oral/written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills. They will display initiative, attention to detail, and have the ability to work autonomously and unsupervised whilst contributing to the wider team's objectives of ensuring service delivery exceeds expectations.
