In this role, the individual is responsible for managing and actively participating in product development and innovation projects within the baking and savory solution sectors. This involves leading and contributing to projects that aim to develop new products or improve existing ones, ensuring that the company stays competitive and meets market demands. The focus is on driving innovation in product offerings and staying ahead of industry trends in the baking and savory categories.
A significant aspect of the role is identifying customer needs, which involves engaging with clients to understand their requirements and using this information to promote existing products or suggest new, innovative solutions. The individual will also provide technical advice to customers, helping them troubleshoot and optimize their product use. This customer-facing aspect is crucial for building strong relationships and fostering customer loyalty.
Additionally, the role requires attending training courses, trade fairs, and conferences to stay informed on the latest developments in the field. The individual may also present new product developments at these events, showcasing the company's innovations. Collaboration with internal teams, including Sales, Marketing, and Product Stewardship, is essential to ensure that all departments are aligned on product strategies and that the product offerings meet both customer needs and regulatory requirements

The role involves reporting weekly activities to the Head of Innovation and updating the CRM with visit reports and follow-ups. Additionally, it requires collaboration with colleagues from across the organization, including headquarters and local offices to support sales activities in the region.
skills and experience required
This role requires a candidate with a solid educational background in food technology, either through vocational training or a Bachelor’s degree. Relevant work experience in a similar position is essential, particularly in roles that involve food technology and product development. The candidate should also have experience in project management, which is key to overseeing innovation and development projects efficiently. Experience in application support in the area of bakery and/or savoury will be deemed advantageous.
The ideal candidate is expected to possess a confident and persuasive communication style, enabling them to interact effectively with clients and colleagues. They should be able to work independently, demonstrating strong organizational skills, while also being a team player who can collaborate with others. These skills are vital for managing projects and ensuring smooth operations in a dynamic work environment.
Traveling is a significant part of this role, with approximately 50% of time spent on travel, likely for client meetings, conferences, and trade fairs. Therefore, the candidate should be comfortable with frequent travel and possess strong intercultural skills to navigate diverse cultural settings.
