Responsibilities:
1.Develop and drive a category strategy for general machined components, not limited to stamping and other related commodities, including developing strategic sourcing partnerships, leading negotiations, and strategy implementation
2.Lead Supplier management strategy including supplier development, supply base consolidation, cost reduction roadmaps and implementation of supplier segmentation plan.
3.Partner with business segments and influence the strategic direction of the category strategy, including design criteria, and directed sourcing requirements (Tier 2/Tier 3).
4.Leads the effort to achieve and maintain alignment in the value chain between the suppliers, and the end customer in all form, fit, function, price and delivery requirements.
5.Manages, tracks, and reports key drivers, market trends from a historical and forecasting perspective.
6.Establishes and implements countermeasures to compensate for negative performance and market trends.
7.Gain a comprehensive understanding of the category total cost, including an integrated view of tooling and component costs as a part of the category strategy
8.Partners with the operational purchasing teams to ensure period-over-period process improvements
9.Drives innovation and a focus on continuous improvement within the supply chain organization
10.Responsible for timely reporting to agreed-on KPIs and presents strategic sourcing plans, activities and successes to the Senior Leadership Team.
11.Identify and assess potential supply chain risks (e.g., geopolitical, financial, operational) and develop mitigation strategies.
Requirements:
1.BA or BS degree required, preferably in Supply Chain/Operations management
2.5+ years of direct supply chain, operations, distribution or related experience, with several years being in a category management or procurement of industrial material
3.Experience with direct material sourcing on a global scale, with multi-tier supplier relationship management
4.Outstanding analytical skills with the ability to use a structured approach to understand, analyze and solve complex problems / issues
5.Ability to develop working partnerships with senior executives across the business and to challenge and influence them to create change
6.Cross-functional / cross-departmental outlook, working across a decentralized organization
7.Strong written communication and excellent oral presentation skills, and the ability to present convincingly at senior levels
8.Proven track record of developing and implementing successful sourcing/procurement strategies
9.Strong negotiation skills and experience in contract management.
10.International work experience and willingness to travel frequently.
