Randstad is proud to partner with a Queensland Government department focused on delivering building, maintenance, and infrastructure projects. The position will be responsible for design management activities for modular housing projects throughout Queensland and will focus on ensuring the services provided are customer oriented and meet customer expectations including time, cost and quality parameters and represent value for money. The position requires close collaboration with Project Managers, client and customer representatives, external suppliers and panel members, and design consultants.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the creation, maintenance, and evolution of comprehensive design management documentation, ensuring alignment with project requirements and regulatory standards.
Set and enforce high standards for documentation quality, focusing on clarity, organization, and usability for stakeholders and project teams.
Manage the Documentation Programme within the Project Programme, ensuring timely preparation, distribution, and accessibility of all design-related documents.
Lead the development of methodologies for project delivery, emphasizing front-end design phases to align with project requirements and project objectives.
Collaborate closely with the Design Consultant Team, proactively managing their contributions to ensure the delivery of high-quality design documentation that meets project briefs, budgetary constraints, and regulatory requirements.
Skills & Experience:
- Tertiary degree in architecture, construction management or similar combined with relevant industry experience managing end to end design projects.
- Experience in roles such as client-side design manager or managing contractor design manager, including managing sub-consultant teams
- Demonstrated understanding of time, cost, and scope constraints in both design phases and overall project contexts.
It is expected that the successful candidate will possess strong oral/written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills. They will display initiative, attention to detail, and have the ability to work autonomously and unsupervised whilst contributing to the wider team's objectives.
