About the Role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will provide critical financial support and advice to staff across the department, contributing to a wide range of financial practices. You will coordinate the organisation’s financial management and compliance responsibilities while supporting ongoing business improvement initiatives. Experience in accounts payable and receivable is highly desired for this role.

To succeed in this role, you will:
- Assist with the department’s end-of-month and end-of-year financial processes, including preparing monthly accruals, general ledger reconciliations, generating recurring and prepayment documents, and preparing monthly reports, ensuring full compliance with internal policies and relevant legislation.
- Monitor and maintain the department’s monthly cash book and corporate card reconciliation processes, reviewing and analysing expenditure while investigating potential errors.
- Assist in managing the corporate card program, including Commbank card administration, corporate card training for executives, and administrator duties for the Corporate Travel Management (CTM) system.
- Manage vendor master data changes and creation processes, ensuring efficient domestic and international payment processing.
- Prepare and maintain registers and reporting activities to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and accounting standards.
- Assist in developing financial policies and procedures, ensuring consistency and compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements.
- Provide training and support to the department's domestic and international network, as well as external stakeholders.
- Build collaborative relationships with key stakeholders within Australia and overseas to drive business improvement activities and new initiatives.
Other duties as required may be assigned.
Ideal Candidate Profile (Key Capabilities)

- Experience in an accounting or financial environment with knowledge of relevant financial legislation.
- Strong understanding of accounts payable/receivable processes, journal preparation, and general ledger reconciliation.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and implement change in a client-facing environment.
- Skilled in identifying complex problems and delivering effective solutions.
- Excellent communication skills and resilience, able to thrive in a high-pressure environment with competing priorities.
While there are no mandatory qualifications for this role, a qualification (or progress towards one) in accounting, business, commerce, or a related field will be highly regarded.
