Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Advanced Social Worker to join our Children and Young Person Team. In this critical role, you will provide expert case management, mentorship to less experienced staff, and contribute to the development of best practices within the team. Your work will be instrumental in protecting children and promoting their long-term welfare.
Key Responsibilities:
... - Manage a complex caseload involving children and young people in need, at risk, or in care.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine the needs and risks faced by children and their families.
- Develop, implement, and review detailed care plans tailored to the individual needs of children and young people.
- Provide high-level professional advice and guidance to colleagues, supporting their development and ensuring high standards of practice.
- Work collaboratively with other professionals, agencies, and stakeholders to ensure a coordinated approach to safeguarding and support.
- Participate in case conferences, strategy meetings, and court proceedings, providing expert testimony as required.
- Stay informed about current legislation, policies, and best practices in child protection and welfare.
- Lead on specific projects or areas of practice development within the team.
- Ensure accurate, timely, and detailed recording of all casework in accordance with statutory and organisational requirements.
Requirements:
- Degree in Social Work and current registration with Social Work England.
- Extensive experience in child protection, safeguarding, and working with children and young people.
- Proven ability to manage complex cases and make sound, evidence-based decisions.
- Strong understanding of relevant legislation, statutory guidance, and best practices.
- Excellent communication, analytic, and organisational skills.
- Experience in mentoring or supervising less experienced staff is highly desirable.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and reflective practice.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Pay rate: £40ph
Please note, you must have experience as a ADVANCED SOCIAL WORKER within a children team for this role.
Your experience must be within the UK as a fully qualified Social Worker and you must be registered with Social Work England.
