Salary: £24 per hour
Join our dedicated Specialist Services LD & PD Team in Newcastle, where we strive to provide exceptional care and support to adults with learning disabilities (LD) and physical disabilities (PD). Our team is committed to making a positive impact on the lives of those we serve, offering specialised support tailored to each individual's unique needs.
Responsibilities:
- Handling complex safeguarding cases with a focus on protecting vulnerable adults.
- Responding swiftly and effectively to crises, ensuring immediate and appropriate action is taken.
- Completing Mental Capacity Assessments (MCA) to ensure the rights and safety of individuals are upheld.
- Conducting thorough Care Act assessments to determine eligibility for support and services.
- Providing duty and on-call support as needed, demonstrating reliability and readiness to assist in urgent situations.
- Managing a diverse caseload efficiently while working under pressure to meet deadlines.
Requirements:
- Registered with Social work England
- A Degree in Social work or Diploma in SW, CQSW, CSS
- Right to Work in UK
- Enhanced DBS check, dated within the last 12 months
- Experience with LD and Autism: Proven experience working with individuals with learning disabilities and/or autism.
- Duty/On-Call Experience: Prior experience in a duty or on-call capacity, showcasing your ability to handle emergencies.
- Safeguarding Expertise: Strong background in managing complex safeguarding issues.
- Crisis Management Skills: Ability to respond to and manage crises effectively and calmly.
- MCA and Care Act Proficiency: Experience completing Mental Capacity Assessments and Care Act assessments accurately and efficiently.
