Responsibilities
The Accounts Receivable clerk will :
Establish and maintain accounts receivable files.
Enter and process payments received, including checks, wire transfers and other payment methods.
Reconcile accounts receivable on a regular basis to ensure accuracy.
Contact customers to follow up on overdue payments and send payment reminders and overdue notices as required.
Work closely with project management teams to resolve billing disputes.
Prepare and send payment receipts to customers.
Obtain releases from suppliers in exchange for payment.
Work with accounts payable to ensure reconciliation between receipts
receipts and recorded payments.
Issue customer invoices based on contracts and work performed.
Verify accuracy of billing information, including amounts, job descriptions and payment terms.
Send invoices to customers and follow up on shipments.
Work closely with accounting and project management teams.
Provide regular reports on accounts receivable status and collection activities.
Participate in team meetings and contribute to the improvement of accounts receivable management processes.
Qualifications
The accounts receivable clerk must have :
A College diploma (DCS, ACS) in accounting, finance or a related field.
1-2 years of previous experience in accounts receivable management and debt collection, preferably in the construction industry.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in French and English
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Knowledge of accounting software (D365 an asset) and office tools (Excel, Word, etc.).
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge of construction whistleblowing laws and regulations (asset).
Ability to solve problems and negotiate with customers.
Attention to detail and thoroughness in managing financial files.
