Responsibilities
•Serve as an Accounting Specialist, responsible for overseeing the Insurance Payables and Receivables workflow as allocated.
•Oversee the creation of risk and payment reports for selected products and markets, ensuring these reports are reconciled with accounting records.
•Accurately and promptly manage individual payables for designated accounts.
•Ensure receivables from assigned broker relationships or products are managed within specified aging targets.
•Communicate effectively with Underwriters and Technical Assistants regarding billing adjustments, clarifications, and cancellations in a clear and comprehensible manner.
•Maintain professional communication with brokers and brokerage accounting contacts regarding outstanding receivables.
•Perform additional accounting tasks as required to support audits, financial reporting, or internal control systems.
•Comply with all internal control systems and quality standards, showcasing logical coherence.
•Collaborate effectively as a team member, balancing limited resources with customer service goals, and providing coverage for colleagues as needed.
•Contribute to the team's success by offering valuable recommendations to the team and senior management, aimed at continuous process improvement.
•This position reports to both the Controller and a Managing Director and operates within a small team.
Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
•Proven experience in accounts receivable (75%) and accounts payable (25%).
•Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, particularly in the insurance industry.
•Proficiency in managing risk and payment reports and reconciling these with accounting records.
•Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in managing payables and receivables.
•Excellent communication skills.
•Ability to support audits, financial reporting, and maintain internal control systems.
•Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
