Responsibilities
This role involves managing daily accounting functions for a diverse group of companies, ensuring accuracy in bank reconciliations, and maintaining a seamless cash flow and management process. The ideal candidate will be smart, quick-thinking, and able to look beyond the immediate tasks to understand the broader financial picture.
- Perform daily bank reconciliations.
- Manage daily cash flow activities.
- Communicate with various departments for smooth operations.
- Notify operating team about payment status for freight release.
- Process and track multiple credit card transactions.
- Handle inter-company transactions and shared expenditures.
- Reconcile deposits and correct discrepancies.
- Maintain electronic records of invoices and statements.
- Assist with month-end data entry and financial completion.
- Prepare administrative deposits and GST/PST filings.
- Assist with time-sensitive tasks, such as customs reconciliations and journal entries.
- Cross-train with team members on different accounting functions.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of accounting experience in a large company environment.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
- Intermediate Excel skills, with the ability to work with pre-built spreadsheets.
- Willingness to work 5 days in the office from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
- Not reliant on public transit for commuting.
