About the Role

In this exciting and dynamic role, you will take charge of planning and executing impactful internal communications activities, aligning them with strategic priorities and goals. You’ll manage events, develop compelling content, and lead communication efforts that inspire and engage employees, stakeholders, and the broader community.
Key Responsibilities
Internal Communications Leadership: Plan, implement, and manage internal communications strategies and campaigns to align with organizational priorities, ensuring they resonate with employees and stakeholders at all levels.
Event Coordination: Lead the planning and coordination of engaging in-person and virtual events. From speechwriting to logistics and technical elements, you will ensure that every detail is carefully executed to create memorable and impactful experiences.
Content Creation & Editing: Research, write, and edit a wide variety of communication materials, including speeches, newsletters, publications, infographics, videos, and web content. Craft messages that are on-brand, clear, and engaging, and align them with the organization’s style guide and objectives.
Culture & Community Engagement: Promote a positive workplace culture that supports the interests of First Nations people, ensuring that the work you do contributes to better outcomes and meaningful engagement with diverse communities.
Stakeholder Relations: Build and maintain strong, productive relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, collaborating closely to achieve communications and engagement goals. Your ability to engage with colleagues and other agencies will be critical to driving success.
Brand & Reputation Management: Manage the organization's reputation through careful and strategic communication planning, ensuring that the brand message remains consistent, engaging, and aligned with the core values of the organization.
Continuous Innovation: Stay ahead of communication trends, embracing new tools and technologies to innovate and continuously improve communication strategies and practices within the organization.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about creating meaningful change. You should have a proven track record in managing integrated communication services and leading successful initiatives that engage and inspire people.
Experience & Expertise: You have experience in leading communication services, developing and implementing communication plans, and managing brand and reputation. A background in coordinating large-scale in-person and virtual events will be highly valued, though a willingness to learn is equally important.
Creative Communication Skills: You have experience preparing and designing a wide range of communication materials, such as leadership messages, newsletters, web content, speeches, videos, fact sheets, and briefings. You are highly skilled at crafting messages that resonate with diverse audiences and align with organizational goals.
Relationship Building: You have a demonstrated ability to cultivate strong, effective relationships with a variety of stakeholders, both within and outside the organization. Your collaborative approach helps drive communication and engagement outcomes.
Drive for Excellence: You possess excellent time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. You are motivated to meet deadlines and produce high-quality work under pressure.
Team-Oriented & Culturally Aware: You are eager to engage in a team environment, contributing to a positive and inclusive workplace culture. Your ability to actively contribute to equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives is key to the success of this role.
Desirable Skills: While not essential, basic graphic design skills would be highly regarded to support the development of visual communication materials.
