1:1 Support Teaching Assistant - Leigh

This opportunity is based in Leigh, offering a chance to work one-on-one with a pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
About the Role:
In this role, you'll play a crucial part in supporting a child with ASD, ensuring their specific needs are met to help them succeed both academically and socially. We're seeking someone reliable, adaptable, and capable of creating a supportive learning environment where the pupil can thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored 1:1 support to a pupil with ASD, adapting to their individual learning needs.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and other TAs to organise and implement appropriate activities.
- Work closely with other support staff and specialists to ensure the pupil's EHCP plan is effectively followed.
- Encourage and support the child's emotional well-being and positive behaviours.
- Prepare and develop class displays, and maintain accurate records of the pupil's progress.
- Foster a calm and supportive environment conducive to learning.
Essential Requirements:
- Experience working on a 1:1 basis or in small groups with children who have Special Educational Needs (SEN).
- Previous experience working in nursery, KS1, or SEN settings is highly valued.
- Ability to manage challenging behaviours effectively.
- Strong communication skills to engage and build rapport with young people.
- Creative, proactive, and flexible in supporting styles.
- Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or working towards one).
