we believe.
that everyone, regardless of their background, deserves work that provides dignity, security and purpose. We want our employees and the people whose careers we support to feel included, valued and respected, and to bring their true selves to work. Randstad is committed to creating more equitable, inclusive and diverse workplaces everywhere.
As a gesture of that commitment, Randstad employees will receive the second of three model bicycles – this one representing diversity.
More importantly, we are once again contributing to the mobilization of residents in Hwange, Zimbabwe, through the gift of bicycles, via our partner World Bicycle Relief. Residents in many rural, low-income regions around the world lack access to reliable and affordable transportation, denying them access to education, healthcare and jobs. A bicycle bridges the gap and accelerates the progress toward more equity, diversity and inclusion in their area.
diversity.
This year's model bicycle represents diversity and celebrates our differences. Our teams not only respect but also welcome and celebrate our individualities. We work together best when our teams reflect diverse backgrounds, ethnicity, age, ability, gender, nationality, religion, sexual orientation and all ways that make us unique. This is business imperative at Randstad and fundamental to the success of our clients and ourselves.
mobilized community project in Hwange.
We are on a journey to give 2,700 bicycles to the Hwange community. These bicycles will support entire households and we estimate that up to 13,500 people will be able to utilize them to travel to school, work, and healthcare. This year, 800 bicycles have been distributed, and efforts are underway to build a sustainable ecosystem supported by bicycle mechanics equipped with spare parts. In this way we are literally helping them move forward and contributing to the development of their communities.
