Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE).
- Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check on the update service, or willingness to apply for one.
- Demonstrated passion for and expertise in science education, with a strong subject knowledge across key scientific disciplines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work full-time hours, starting as soon as possible to meet the needs of our school community.
- Previous experience teaching science at the secondary level is advantageous but not essential.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality science lessons to secondary students, utilising innovative teaching methods and resources to enhance student understanding and engagement.
- Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued, challenged, and empowered to reach their full potential in science.
- Assess student progress through a variety of formative and summative assessment strategies, providing constructive feedback to support their academic growth and development.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement cross-curricular connections and enrichment opportunities that deepen student's understanding of scientific concepts and principles.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in science education and pedagogy, continuously enhancing your teaching skills and expertise.
- Uphold the school's values and policies, contributing to a positive and respectful school culture that promotes academic excellence and student well-being.
